However, if you find you have lost games on your console, you can learn how to recover PS4 games here with reliable data recovery software - EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. It's important the make sure the power cable is fully connected. To check whether it's the problem with the power cord, you can either reconnect it or switch to a new power cable to have a try.

Step 4. If it's not booting up or not connected with power, repeat the former 3 steps and replace the old power cable with a new one. If you are using a power strip, unplug your power cord and connect it to the wall outlet to have a try. Some power strips are just not built for the amount of power that a PS4 will take. Dust issues can sometimes seriously interfere with your PS4.

Cleaning the dust inside is a very effective solution to resolve your problem. There are a few things you can try to dust your PS4. For example, you can try blowing into the vents or disk drive or doing some cleaning inside by opening the top plate of your PS4. After clearing the dust, you can start your console and see if this has helped you. Step 2. Press and hold the power button on your PS4 console until you hear the second beep, then release the button.

Step 3. Select "Restart the PS4" with your controller. Wait for the process to complete. If a restart won't help, you can try to rebuild your PS4 database.

Starting the PS4 in safe mode, and select "Rebuild Database". Please keep in mind that this will clean up all the data on your PS4, don't apply this method until you have to. The four tips above are fixes for the situations in which PS4 won't turn on due to the most common reasons.

If you have only a laptop, you need an external hard drive enclosure for this process. Afterwards, follow the instructions illustrated on this page. I was playing a game online when the issues started.. Persisted a couple days before I got frustrated, bc at this point my home playstation menus began to show symptoms also. Hitting PS button would take awhile and the option boxes would be empty capture gallery, library, etc. The same problems I was having in game.

Started doing research and performed a hard restart.. Meanwhile, the playstation froze and turned itself off twice loading simple operations. Tested without network connection problem persisted.. Upon getting the system back on it seemed initialization had not worked..

When first turned on everything seemed fine even played a single round in a game before falling asleep. Now is the next day and problems are back.. Could this be a hard drive issue? Or something further?.. I feel some signs point to network, is it possible something within corrupted to now it can be connected to internet but can not connect to any online services such as EA, rockstar, etc. This system is a PS4 pro..

Never many trouble out of home network prior.. This will restore the hard drive performance to its original state. I play a lot of large lobby multiplayer type games. Thanks for the quick response.. The best way for you to go through is to take the PS4 Pro hard drive to a computer repair shop. This is the cheapest option for you. If it proves to resolve this issue, that means your hard drive must be replaced within few months when it fails again or starts causing errors.

Otherwise, you can check this post to get the best hard drive for your PS4 Pro. I understand… thanks again for the response. I will try to find one and in my area to take it in.. I guess my question is once they format it for me.. Reinstalling PlayStation operating system without a pc.. Have never had to work on my system like this.. You only need to download PS4 system software the full package on a USB flash drive, then the installation is so easy. Just visit this page for more details.

And not worth buying a new hard drive after that? Will give you some feedback on whether it worked as soon as I can get it back in.. Please come with your feedback once you try it. Now it just restarts.. This shall resolve your issue. I asked for help on this page about a month ago, my problem was getting error CE every time I played.

I had tried all the things the official PS4 support page tells u to do I also had rebuilt the database and cleaned the ps4. None of those helped and I was instructed to replace the hard drive.

And on this weekend I finally got to it. An IT guy replaced the hard drive, properly cleaned my Ps and replaced the thermal paste. At first it seemed all my problems were gone, ps was a lot faster and it didnt overheat.

But after 4 hours it crashed. The next day it crashed after 2hours, then again after 30min and then after 15min. So even though the hard drive was replaced the problem persists. What could cause the problem?

Could it be something in my save files? If the situation is just as you described, your PS4 undergoes hardware defect. That would be a much cheaper option that we always advise PS4 users to do in similar situations before considering a new hard drive replacement. Anyway, the source of problem apparently seems in the storage device. The CPU cannot properly read data from the hard drive. Either because the hard drive itself is malfunctioning, or the CPU is declining.

Then install it into your PS4 again, and see if it works fine or not. Im pretty sure the IT guy already did the full format on the new hard drive before installing because it was a slightly used drive, also my original one was on the verge of death when he checked it so it was better to switch it into a new one. If not, try it as the first step to overcome this problem.

Have a look at this post please. After two days of this happening I contacted PlayStation support and they told me to restore the PS4 to default, rebuild the database, and initialize it if the problem continued to occur.

One being CE and the other being CE These error codes come up when ever I try to start up Fortnite. I hope you can identify the problem. This shall eliminate almost all sorts of errors the hard drive undergoes.

If not do you have any HDD to recommend for ps4 slim? Otherwise, you can find other cheaper alternatives in our guide on the best hard drive upgrade for PS4. Hi again, im having some trouble with my ps I ran a full format on my hdd about a month ago which fixed it for a while but now having problems.

As for your PS4 hard drive, I want to ask you first: what problems are you having now? I put the PS4 in safe mode, initialized and it started to run great! I accidentally knocked the power cord out again today and experienced similar problems but initializing seemed to fix it! Thanks again for the reply and all the work you guys do around here!

Yes, surely we can. Just want to know what kind of help you need. Please be specific so we can help you well enough.

Hello again. I was wondering if you can help explain how to install windows 10 on my laptop currently running windows 8 and help backup any data etc. Do you think ill be able to upgrade RAM by myself? You only need to have Windows 10 Disc.

As for upgrading to a larger RAM size, I am not sure about your laptop. Does it make it easy to upgrade RAM or not? Mine is Dell Latitude, and there is a special area on its bottom that I only need to remove its cover to reveal the RAM chips and pull them out. If it is for a year or two, then I recommend gb minimum.

If more than that, I recommend gb minimum. Hi again, thanks for the quick reply! Will i need to purchase a windows 10 disc from in-store or amazon? I was reading online that it might be possible to install via USB, do you know anything about that? I replaced the keyboard of my laptop not too long ago, im pretty sure i can access the RAM slots, is there any that you recommend? Currently using 4gb and have another RAM slot free.

Sorry this time for the late response. We have been in a vacation and no one here was available to reply to your comment. As for the Windows 10 disc, you can buy it from either this or that. And yes, you can have a digital copy that can run from a USB flash stick. There are many tutorials on YouTube that illustrates that.

I recommend that you use minimum 8gb RAM. You have to know what type of RAM does your motherboard support before considering the upgrade. If it supports, for instance, DDR3, it will be a waste of money to buy DDR4, plus you may have conflicts occurring with the current chip.

How can you know? Go to the official online page of that laptop and look into its specs, you can easily figure that out. My ps4 got error ce after downloading an update for Fortnite. Have a look please on these two articles:. Article 1 on how to fix error code ce Article 2 on how to fix failed PS4 hard drive. I just bought a game but now when i play it. It takes forever to load up and it frezzes up every other second. Please help me figure it out please!!!!!! Is it just that game or every game?

If it is only that game, probably you need to check the health of its disc, as it might be dirty or scratched. These are the symptoms of hardware failure. It is either that your PS4 is overheating or you have a defective hardware part. Before going through this route though, try to full initialize PS4. From the past days my PS4 has been running very slow. So yesterday I was playing Call of duty Black Ops 4 and I could see rendering issues on some of the maps during the game.

The graphics were choppy at times. At first I just thought it could have been a network issue or an issue with the game lagging which could happen. I have a decent internet connection 90mbps. The next day, I set a game for download from the playstation store, it was downloading OK for the most part. After the game was half downloaded, the whole system froze while I was navigating the notifications menu.

It stayed stuck for more than a minute. So I pressed the power button on the console for a few seconds but still nothing. I finally had to unplug the power cable and reconnect it. I called up Sony support and they advised me to do the software initialization via the safe mode.

That went well and the system rebooted. However, the system still runs very slow with literally nothing on it after the OS installation. However, while navigating the menu, the system froze again and I had to reboot the console. Also, the download happened at a very slow speed. When I test the connection, it gives me a speed of mbps but the actual download is happening at just 6mbps. Also, the download seems to stop for a few seconds for some reason. I mostly do digital downloads and never had this issue before.

My console is still running very slow even though it has nothing on it. You need to pull out PS4 hard drive and connect it to a PC first. It can benefit you. I rebuilded, updated, initialized, fully initialize, all in safe mode, deleted my messages, my notifications, my Internet data, deleted apps, reinstalled apps, left PS4 untouched, restored default settings, cleaned my PS4, added ventilation to it, made room cooler, used a simpler theme, stopped using my other accounts, looked online for solutions, etc….

Let me first ask you an important question: does the freeze happen only with that specific game, or just every game? By the way, your problem is common and not weird. I see now it is most probably the internal hard drive. I read the article but idk which of these fall into my problem. But if it is every game, he can help you here. This might resolve the issue. Look at this page I found, apparently it might be the game, however this person says something interesting.

He says:. Boot into Safe Mode and rebuild the database. But, nevertheless, you can try formatting the hard drive. Just try, what will you lose? PUP right? I think you have downloaded the wrong file. Try download this file from here direct link. I must of had downloaded the wrong file even though it said the exact same update serial as the one the Internet states: 6.

Anyway, so now I set up my PS4…Again, right? So…Is updating it in Safe Mode more guaranteed or what? This is almost the last resort. Just initialize, re-install the PS4 system software and that game, then see the final result.

I am waiting to know what happened to you eventually. Please provide us with a feedback on your case, this will help others as well. Thank you very much for narrating your story to us.

I am glad that you nearly overcame this annoying problem. Hopefully it has been totally resolved. Please provide us with your feedback after hours of playing the game.

My PS4 Slim would occasionally freeze and experience performance drops as of late, of which I thought was caused by overheating, seeing that I would only face these issues when the system started heating up.

To put it simply, I discovered that once that heat moved over to the hard drive, everything would go to shit, pardon my language. But should I consider a replacement or is there a fix I could work out at home? Apparently the PS4 hard drive needs maintenance. Please read this article for more details. If you have already initialized PS4 and re-install the system software, yet this problem still persists, it is, most probably related to the graphics card.

You can get a good hard drive replacement for PS4 that can last around 2 years with you without an issue. The SSD is the most reliable storage device available. Cool, thanks for that..

I am not sure about what exactly you meant by your first question. But I think you want to upgrade your current Windows version to Windows This collection has three games, I played the first just fine, but the other two have these problems.

Is this something I should worry? The UI also works fine. Other apps like Youtube and Netflix work properly, too. OS System starts with no issues.

Please advise. This is normal to happen after a while of using the PS4. For that reason you need to regularly rebuild the PS4 database to restore the performance of your console.

You only have to worry when the PS4 crashes or completely freezes. In most cases that means a failure of the PS4 hard drive. Hi again. Bad news for me. My PS4 froze and shut off by itself when I tried to launch a new digital game today. I deleted Uncharted and installed this new game later so I think these two games have something in common.

They must have been installed or downloaded on a bad sector or something. This is not the case for my previously-installed games. Thank God it is still under warranty. An HDD replacement is on the way I reckon. It is too early to judge it that way. In your case it might be some file conflicts that occur within the PS4 system software which requires to full initialize the PS4.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your time. One last question though. I read that I could, but wanted to hear your advices. I play RDR 2 for hours with no issues or 0 lags so I think my save file must be pretty okay to be used later if my HDD is formatted or replaced.
