As for upgrading to a larger RAM size, I am not sure about your laptop. Does it make it easy to upgrade RAM or not? Mine is Dell Latitude, and there is a special area on its bottom that I only need to remove its cover to reveal the RAM chips and pull them out. If it is for a year or two, then I recommend gb minimum.

I recommend that you use minimum 8gb RAM. You have to know what type of RAM does your motherboard support before considering the upgrade. If it supports, for instance, DDR3, it will be a waste of money to buy DDR4, plus you may have conflicts occurring with the current chip.
